    POLISHING

Your floors are an investment, therefore you want them to last a long time. Good care and cleaning is an essential part of protecting your investment.

There are different methods of installing solid wood strips, engineered wood strips, and parquet. With all methods of installation, the first step is moisture testing, which is imperative to ensure proper installation. Flooring installation can be a painstaking process but our flooring technicians take pride in leaving your home with beautiful flooring. Our expert flooring technicians have seen and been in every situation and are proficient in different methods of installation for hardwood flooring.

We, at Kado Hardwood Floors leaves your hardwood floors looking fresh and new with no mess and no fuss. Our experts ensure the protection of your furniture and valuables so you can rest easy knowing your home is in good hands. We use only solvent based cleaners and polishes to protect your floors. We offer a “sandless” process of reapplying finish which takes less time and is less hassle for you. If the floor has been worn down to bear wood, we offer a comprehensive sanding and finishing service to restore your hardwood floors to their former beauty.

    SOME OF OUR SERVICES

    NAIL DOWN/STAPLE INSTALLATION

This method requires that we nail down or staple solid or engineered wood strips to the sub-flooring (which is usually plywood or plank wood). The hardwood floor is installed with random length strips for a more beautiful effect. A few wood strips are positioned down and arranged before installation, to ensure proper placement and tautness.

    GLUE DOWN INSTALLATION

This method requires that we glue down parquet or engineered wood strips directly to the sub-floor. In these instances, the sub-floor is typically concrete, therefore we pay extra focus on moisture. With glue down installations, it is very important to consider any specific allergies and sensitivities to smell. We work with an acrylic based glue which can be more mild than many of the other options. Glue down installations may be walked on the following day and furniture may also be moved in.

    FLOATING INSTALLATION

This method requires that we glue together the tongue and groove of each and every plank which makes the floor float on the foam cushioned padding. In the event that the flooring features a locking system, we are able to lock the pieces together without glue. Used with either engineered wood floor or laminate, but in either case the flooring is pre-finished. Not all the engineered surfaces may be floated. Floating floor can even be placed over subflooring of questionable quality unlike the alternative methods.

    FINE REFINISHING

This is usually a procedure that is a less extensive process than sanding. It demands roughing the surface coat of finish to permit another coat of finish to be given to renew and rejuvanate the floor.
